A Total Child of the 80's

While surfing some of my other favorite blogs today (metrodad, ricedadies, kimchimamas among others) I found this way fun link to an online Lite Brite!

Being a child of the 80's (and proud of it) I have to admit I had a mild obsession with Lite Brite. I can even remember tearfully saving it from one of my mother's yard sales when we lived in New York (I think I was around 4 years old). I LOVED my light bright. That got me thinking about other things that I treasured as a child.

Shrinky Dinks - I especially liked the ones that ended up having a little felt texture to them.
Strawberry Shortcake - smelly dolls..what a hit
Smurfs - I loved the cartoon, the stuffed animals (I really treasured my smurfette doll)
Snorks - but not as much as smurfs..I think they were just kind of underwater smurfs
My Little Pony
Care Bears
Wonder Woman
Wonder Twins - actually all the Wonder Friends
Bionic Woman T.V. Show - I never had a Bionic Man or Bionic Woman barbie..but remember how you could look through their eye which had a little magnifying glass in it?
The Great Space Coaster - this was an early morning hit..not too many people I ask about this show remember it. "This is the news, with Gary Gnu" & Speedreader...so LOVED this show!
Hippity Hop
Sit-n-Spin - and getting dizzy looking at the wheel in the middle
Big Wheels
Stretch Armstrong - I always wanted to cut him open
Fashion Plates - you could put different plastic plates together and run a pencil or crayon over paper to make a clothing designs
I can't remember what they were called by they were like minature barbie dolls
Glo Worm
Poochie (that little dog with the pink ears)
Rainbow Brite
Teddy Ruxpin ( never got one of these either)
Star wars toys
Sea Wees - These were so fun in the bath tub - mermaid bodies with long odd color hair you could brush and little plastic babies with swimming caps on
Glamour Gals - these were the little mini barbies that were about 3" tall with long hair
Battle Star Gallatica - I loved the little robot dog
Who Spilled the Beans - this was a great game...and if you lost beans you could just open up a bag and use some from the kitchen
Buck Rogers
Colorforms - I had one for the muppets
Atari - I was queen of Frogger and PacMan
Slip and Slide - ouch! Grass Burn.
Last but by no means least - Underoos! I so loved my Wonder Woman Underoos and also my bat girl sets. They should definately bring these back out!

I actually can't believe I'm going to be a mom and these are all going to be ancient relics to my son.
